Under the leadership of the ’Swing King’ Andrej Hermlin, the Swing Dance Orchestra has developed into the most important and successful swing band in Germany.Founded in 1987, the orchestra possesses a broad repertoire, featuring many well-known pieces as well as very rare American original arrangements from the 1930s. The orchestra plays melodies by Benny Goodman Artie Shaw, Jimmy and Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway, Glenn Miller and many other stars of the swing era. The authentic sound of this Big Band is virtually unique in the world. Far removed from fashionable trends, the Swing Dance Orchestra play music to listen and dance to.
