The San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra, created in 1981, is considered an outstanding ensemble that “may claim to be one of the best international and professional orchestras” (“Süddeutsche Zeitung”). Musicians like Yo-Yo Ma, Kurt Masur, Valery Gergiev, Mstislav Rostropovich or Vadim Repin have performed with this exceptional orchestra. On its European tour in 2012, the orchestra is performing together with the German master pianist Lars Vogt.
