After a long sea journey, Pippilotta Delicatessa Longstocking, moves into Villa Villekulla with her horse and monkey, Mr Nilsson. That makes the well-behaved siblings Annika and Thomas happy, because Pippi is super strong, brilliantly mischevious and tells wonderful tall stories. Pippi's mother died when she was very young and her father, a ship's captain, is almost always away sailing on the high seas.Pippi has to look after Tommy and Annika while their parents are on holiday - no problem for the strongest girl in the world. But the trio then receive terrible news from a message in a bottle. Pippi's father has been kidnapped by pirates! The friends hatch a daring rescue plan. In Pippi's hot-air balloon bed, they fly to the South Seas to negotiate with the entire pirate city in order to free her father.
