Echternacher Abend – Lieder aus der HeimatIn the course of time, the inhabitants of Echternach have created an impressive number of songs, mostly satirical, written in the local dialect. The topics were curious events, politics, or people’s love of their quaint little town. A lot of these songs have survived and are still to be heard occasionally. Singing them tonight (with instrumental accompaniment) is part of the efforts made by the town authorities and the Basilica-Choir to preserve this peculiar aspect of our heritage.
